Our sustainability policy is a broad one. It is about our planet as well as our people.
We have a number of projects running all the time.

Some of our current initiatives:

... with focus on us climate:

• How can we unnecessarily avoid waste and recycle our waste as much as possible?

• How can we make our consumption from reduce fuel? Where can we efficiently use green energy during our works?

• How can we make it energy consumption at our offices reduce?

... with a focus on our people:

• How do we operate at all times on a safe means with each other and with our environment?

• How can we support our employees in their health, e.g. in terms of healthy eating and adequate exercise?

• How to help APKs with vertical or horizontal grow if they want to?

Many of these initiatives were started at the request of our own APSs

"I want to help light a spark in the APS'ers, convince them to make climate-conscious choices in everyday life as well.", concludes Solange Bruno, sustainability manager of APS Group.

As part of our sustainability policy, we sponsor the Limburg Climate Parliament. At this annual congress, about 100 business leaders and other professionals from a variety of sectors come together to give advice to startups with a project in the interest of our climate.

APS sustainability manager, participated in the Parliament and shares her experiences during the inspiring meeting on 29 September at Alden Biesen: "It is motivating to hear how many circular and sustainable ideas are being developed in Belgium in a way that they can also be successfully commercialised and at the same time create a very positive impact for the environment, people and surroundings. The many attendees also dared to speak openly about the challenges they face in the context of sustainability. This openness and willingness to cooperate (SDG17) is the catalyst to boost the transition to greater sustainability."

CO2 reduction

We closely monitor our CO2 emissions and are actively working to limit and reduce them wherever possible.

Sorting waste

Further sensitising our employees around waste sorting is a key objective within our sustainability policy.

Well-being at work

This theme includes many action points. Some examples:

• We support our employees in their health by encouraging healthy eating and sufficient exercise in creative ways.

• By encouraging our APSs to take at least 1 training course every year and daring to take the step of vertical or horizontal advancement, we are committed to the personal growth of our APSs.

Safety of our people

A healthy and, above all, safe working environment is essential in our industry. Our goal is for every APK worker to return home at night as healthy and well as they arrived at work in the morning.
